In honor of Flag Day, the Kiwanis Club of Independence, sponsors a community wide flag contest. Contestants are required to answer five questions correctly to be eligible to win a flag. This year’s flag was the “Great Star”. On June 10, 2010, forty flags were given away to individuals who correctly answered the five questions that appeared in the Independence Spotlight. Kiwanis also provided refreshments for the evening’s wonderful band concert. Congratulations to all our winners!
