                                NEXT MEETING:

    Monday, August 18th at the Heidelberg Distributing at 9101 East Pleasant Valley Road.  This will be our annual Wine Tasting and Steak Roast.  Cost will be $15.00 per person.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm.  Please be sure that you bring your own silver. 

     

    PAST WEEK:  Our guest speaker was MacKenzie Klubnik of the Independence Cultural Arts Council.  She told us about the council.

     

     

    DIVISION COUNCIL MEETING:   This month’s meeting will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, and beginning at 8:15 pm.

     

    OHIO DISTRICT CONVENTION:  This year’s convention will be held from August 15-17, 2008 at Crowne Plaza Columbus North, 6500 Doubletree Avenue, Columbus, Ohio.

          

    THANKS:   We received a thank you note from one of our scholarship recipients, Emily Kominko.  She will be attending Mount Union College in the fall.

     

     

     

     

    INTERCLUB:  This month’s interclub will be at Nordonia on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 7 pm.  Chairman Benes asked everyone that if you have never attended an interclub, please be sure that you do in the future. 

     

    MEMBERSHIP:  The best way to bring in new members is to simply ASK.

      

    COMMUNITY SERVICE:    Reminder:  The West Side Catholic Center is in need of the following items:  Food items-coffee, sugar cereal; Toiletries-soap, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste and brushes; Clothing-Men’s pants, shoes, socks, underwear; Household Goods-pots and pans, can openers, toasters, radios, small TV’s, tableware; Baby Items-diapers, wipes, cribs, bedding; Misc Items-used eyeglasses, backpacks, sleeping bags, garbage bags, umbrellas.  Oh, by the way, George says, “BRING YOUR STUFF!”

     

    YCPO:  Kukawka reported on Friday, April 15, 2008, University Settlement will be holding their annual Back-to-School Fair from 1-4 pm.    

     

    SPECIAL REQUEST:  Several members have asked that their e-mail addresses not be distributed to those outside of the club.  As a courtesy, please contact that member for their permission.

     

     

    POP TAB COLLECTION PROGRAM:  In an effort to raise money for Ronald McDonald House, we collect the tabs from aluminum cans.  Don’t forget to bring them in. 

    BUILDERS CLUB:  The main fundraiser for the Builders Club is the collection of box tops.  These coupons are located on General Mills products.  A valid coupon contains the 10¢ and an expiration date.  There are many other ways to contribute to this fundraiser, log onto boxtops4education.com and find out more.  Below is a photo of what they look like:
